| 12:07 am | Code Monkey is tired Beeng enjoying being a code monkey now, but it is tiring!! Some days it is not worth the extra hours, even though I now enjoy what I do for a living. I need a vacation, a real one, not a con trip. |

| 10:02 pm | Overdue job update You know, after complaining in my last post about the job, I should make an update now that things are better. When I left off, I was doing 10-12 hour work days. By the time the project shipped mid-November, that was up to 12-14 hour work days, most weeks 6 day work weeks. It was pure physical burn-out rate, but we made it out on the target ship date. A week later, my father died, so that ruined the Thanksgiving break I was going to take. When I got back to work, I found out that I was being replaced as validation project lead by meeting my replacement on his first day in the office (my boss had begun a week vacation that day too). Turns out, this was a *good* thing. My boss saw the burn-out, knew that I could not physically keep it up, even though I did what was necessary to get my team to deliver on time (we were the FIRST team at the company to hit their target date after switching to Agile, so that was a Big Deal). He moved me into doing automation development instead of doing project lead for the next release. I am *good* at doing automation, and mostly it is a MUCH better fit for me. I am definately happier now at work than I have been since I starter there 3 1/2 years ago. The funny part is: I am still doing 9-10 hour work days, but it doesn't feel like long days now. Yeah, that is definately a good sign. |

| 3:20 pm | Work has become 10-12 hours a day, plus some weekend time. I am fast headed to physical burn-out. I hate switching jobs, but there is no way I can keep up this pace without getting sick. Already been there and done that with the previous job :( |

| 11:54 pm | I hate being sick Yeah, a random post to keep my IJ open. I am being forced to stay home tomorrow due to still coughing after having this cold for a week. I dont mind working from home, but the indication was I never should have come into the office at all this week if I was still coughing. Sorry, but I only get 10 sick days per year, I am NOT going to use them all up in June. |

| 10:40 am | Making sure journal is alive Given the new ownership of LiveJournal, and a bunch of people there saying they will be moving their blogs to new sites, I am making sure my InsaneJournal is still working. If this post goes through, things are fine. |

| 8:00 pm | First post!! First post to my shiny new Insane Journal account. Nothing much to really say, I came over here in case Live Journal implodes due to the recent 6A mismanagement stuff.
